Service Description

Overview: Experience the breathtaking beauty of the active Pacaya Volcano, one of Guatemala's most iconic natural wonders. Our guided tour will take you on an unforgettable journey through lush forests and volcanic landscapes, offering you the chance to witness the volcano's majesty up close. This tour is perfect for families, outdoor enthusiasts, and those looking for a truly unique travel experience. ๐Ÿ“Tour Itinerary: Departure: Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Antigua for the 1 hour and 15-minute drive to the base of Pacaya Volcano. Ticket Office: Once we arrive we will need to pass throught the visitor's centre to purchase tickets (not included in trip cost). This is 100q or 15USD per person, cash only. You will be able to use the bathrooms and see maps and diagrams of the volcano. If you're not much into hiking, horses can also be rented at this point or further up the trail for an additional 200Q (one way) or 300Q (both ways). Ascent: Upon arrival at the volcano's base, we'll begin our ascent, which takes approximately 1.5 hours. A knowledgeable local guide will accompany you, providing insights into the volcano's geological history and the local flora and fauna. Lava Field Exploration: Explore the lava fields and get up close and personal with the volcano by roasting marshmallows over it's hot vents. Cerro Chino: After the lava field visit, we'll embark on a walk up Cerro Chino to admire views over three other volcanoes (Agua, Acatenango and Fuego (active)). A sandwich and hot drink will also be provided to keep you warm. We recommend visiting at sunset (2pm departure from Antigua) for the best views! ๐Ÿš Whatโ€™s Included: Round-trip transportation from your hotel in Antigua. Professional, English-speaking guide. A sandwich*, marshmallows and a hot drink. A headlamp for the descent if required. *please indicate any dietary requirements ๐Ÿ‘œ What to Bring: Sturdy and comfortable shoes. At least 1 litre of water per person. Lightweight, breathable clothing. Sun cream, sunglasses, and a hat. A windproof jacket or warm clothing for after sunset. Waterproof jacket during rainy season (May - Oct) Cash (100q/$15) for entrance fees, and any additional purchases/gratuities.


Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your tour reservation up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure for a full refund. Within 48 Hours: Cancellations made within 48 hours of the tour start time are subject to the discretion of our management team. Depending on circumstances, we may offer a partial refund or reschedule your tour for a later date.
